Inscription is an international online programming contest organized by NITK Surathkal, India. Right since its inception in 2005, Inscription has always challenged the best programming minds all over the world. Designing correct, efficient algorithms for complex problems is not for the faint-hearted but definitely highly rewarding. Even more challenging is to write working code for the algorithms which tests your programming, debugging and fine-tuning skills to the very hilt.

The contest will consist of a set of challenging problems to which solutions need to be submitted. Since controlling complexity is the essence of computer programming and simplicity the soul of efficiency, the problems would involve highly innovative algorithms and very efficient data structures. So be prepared to rack your brains and harness all your programming skills.

Inscription requires participants to participate in teams of atmost 3 members. The programs may be submitted in C/C++/Java. The standard compilers would be used and the versions would be specified at a later stage. The programs would be evaluated by an online evaluation server (judge) against a number of test cases and timing constraints.

Inscription 2009 will be held on January 25th, 2009 and will involve prizes worth $1000 [1]
